Nothing here has been laundered, weighed or slept under in order to write it. The guidance is assembled from textile standards and from the care documentation makers publish for their own goods.

What is the advice built on?

Published textile standards, laundry chemistry from the journals, and the instructions printed on the goods themselves.

Where those three disagree, the page shows the disagreement instead of quietly picking a winner.

When is a number this site's own?

Only when it is a tally. An original figure here means a set of sources was read on a stated day and the total written down.

That is honest work and it is cheap to check. It is also not a laboratory result, and it is never dressed up as one.

How does a page get put right?

A standard is revised, a maker rewrites its care sheet, or a reader shows the arithmetic does not hold.

Corrections are made in place, in the sentence that was wrong, and the date at the foot follows.
